Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business & Microenterprise Assistance Programs

Program Overview

The City of Lauderhill seeks to build a vibrant local economy by expanding economic opportunity and financial stability for its residents. Through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business & Microenterprise Assistance Program, the City provides forgivable loan assistance to eligible businesses to support business stabilization, economic growth, job creation or retention, and long-term business sustainability, in accordance with 24 CFR Part 570.

This program is authorized under 24 CFR 570.203 (Special Economic Development Activities), including financial assistance to for-profit businesses for eligible economic development activities and microenterprise assistance under 24 CFR 570.201(o). All assistance will be underwritten in accordance with HUD guidelines and 24 CFR 570.209

Applicants are strongly encouraged to carefully review all program materials prior to submission. Applications and supporting documentation must be electronically submitted through the Neighborly Application Portal.

Submission of an application does not guarantee funding or reservation of funds.


CDBG Small Business Assistance Program

Status: Open

Applications are currently being accepted for eligible Small Businesses with six (6) to twenty-five (25) employees, including the owner(s).

Loan Amount: Up to $25,000
Eligibility: Lauderhill-based small businesses (6 to 25 employees)
Use of Funds: Eligible business operating, stabilization, equipment, inventory, technology, and other approved business expenses


CDBG Microenterprise Program

Status:Pending HUD Approval

The CDBG Microenterprise Assistance Program is currently pending HUD approval of a substantial amendment to the City’s CDBG Action Plan. Applications are being accepted for intake and eligibility review purposes only.

Loan Amount: Up to $10,000
Eligibility: Lauderhill-based microenterprises (5 or fewer employees)
Use of Funds:

Eligible business operating, stabilization, equipment, inventory, technology, and other approved business expenses.
No funding awards or commitments will be finalized unless and until HUD approval is received.
