The Community Redevelopment Agency is a special governmental entity
established to revitalize two designated areas of the City. The specific
plans adopted for the Central and the State Rd 7 districts are linked below:
CRA Plan 12-13-05 State Road 7 District Plan
Central-Plan-1-30-06 Central Lauderhill District Plan
Gallery Exhibition at Lauderhill Arts Center
The State Road 7 corridor has been designated for Transit-Oriented high-density urban development. Lauderhill and Broward County have invested in a new regional park and multi-purpose stadium which has hosted international cricket and soccer matches, concerts and festivals among other events and in a 1200-seat Performing Arts Center. These amenities have been the catalyst for new construction and redevelopment projects completed, under construction and in the planning stages that are detailed on this site.
The Central Lauderhill area is a residential area where the Lauderhill Housing Authority has taken the lead in acquiring and rehabilitating properties for sale and for rent. The CRA has assisted by purchasing a small shopping center with incompatible commercial uses and transforming the space into the Lauderhill Arts Center that serves both the local and larger community with art classes, exhibitions and artist work and performance spaces.
