FDOT Broward County Project Updates & Traffic Impact Report

The Florida Department of Transportation is working on various projects in the City of Lauderhill. Construction and maintenance-related lane closures may occur due to these improvements to certain areas in Lauderhill. As a courtesy to Lauderhill residents, the City is sharing the information below on current FDOT projects in our City. Updates below are current as of May 2, 2025 per FDOT.

 


State Road (SR) 7/US 441 Transit Corridor Improvements Project (Group 7) in Lauderhill and Lauderdale Lakes

Description: Project improvements along NW 16th Street consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway from NW 43rd Avenue to SR 7/US 441 to ensure long-term resilience, minor roadway widening throughout project limits to accommodate 5-foot bicycle lanes, adding a continuous 5-foot concrete sidewalk in each direction within project limits to enhance safety and connectivity for pedestrians, and upgrading curb ramps, pavement markings, and signage to improve visibility and accessibility. Project improvements along NW 19th Street consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway from NW 47th Avenue to SR 7/US 441 to ensure long-term resilience, minor roadway widening throughout project limits to accommodate 5-foot bicycle lanes, adding a continuous 5-foot concrete sidewalk in each direction within project limits to enhance safety and connectivity for pedestrians, and upgrading curb ramps, pavement markings, and signage to improve visibility and accessibility. Project improvements along NW 26th Street consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway from NW 49th Avenue to NW 46th Avenue and NW 42nd Avenue to SR 7/US 441 to ensure long-term resilience, minor roadway widening throughout project limits to accommodate 5-foot bicycle lanes, adding a continuous 5-foot concrete sidewalk in each direction within project limits to enhance safety and connectivity for pedestrians, and upgrading curb ramps, pavement markings, and signage to improve visibility and accessibility. Cost/Completion: $5,530,214 / Fall 2026

Traffic Impact:

  • NW 16th Street from NW 49th Avenue to SR 7/US 441 may have one lane intermittently closed in each direction daily as needed, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
  • NW 19th Street from NW 49th Avenue to SR 7/US 441 may have one lane intermittently closed in each direction daily as needed, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
  • NW 26th Street from NW 49th Avenue to SR 7/US 441 may have one lane intermittently closed in each direction daily as needed, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
