The Community Policing Unit identifies and implements neighborhood-based police services to reduce crime, improve the quality of life, and engage community members in building partnerships and solving problems. This initiative permits the Lauderhill Police Department to maximize its use of resources.

Proactive strategies and tactics such as crime analysis, problem solving and community partnerships are used to creatively address crime and social issues that may lead to crime. Collaboration with community partners identifies problems such as neighborhood decay, physical and social disorder. Together the police and community partners will deal with addressing the root of the identified problems.
