The Planning & Zoning Division is responsible for maintaining the City Code of Ordinances and Land Development Regulations:

Planning & Zoning staff also review and evaluate all land development applications. This includes: plats, plat note amendments, site plans, site plan modifications, special exception use, variance, and zoning district map amendments. The division also reviews occupational license applications and land development permits to ensure businesses and developers are operating legally, safely, and in alignment with the City's long term vision. This division is also responsible for maintaining and implementing the Comprehensive Plan and preparing Comprehensive Plan amendments (including Future Land Use Map Series amendments).
The Division also provides technical expertise to various boards and committees including:
- Lauderhill City Commission
- Lauderhill Planning & Zoning Board
- Lauderhill Development Review Committee / Community Appearance Committee
- Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Committee
- Broward County Public Schools Staff Working Group
- Broward Planners Group for the School Board of Broward County, Florida
- State Road 7 Collaborative
