What’s next?
The first 100 individuals from the randomized list (including the 10 entrants who were selected) will be invited to participate in a Homebuyer Technical Assistance Workshop. In the interest of protecting all parties involved due to the emergence of COVID-19 (the Coronavirus), the originally scheduled date of the Workshop has been postponed. Once it is deemed safe to reschedule, these 100 hopefuls will meet with homebuyer counseling agencies, local banks and lenders, City/CRA grant officials, as well as representatives from the first-time homebuyer programs – all to share information and answer questions about the home-buying process. Once the first group of 10 complete the process, the next group of lottery entrants will be notified as space becomes available due to ineligibility or non-responsiveness.
Recognizing that homeownership is not only the ‘American Dream’, but the cornerstone of a strong community, the Lauderhill CRA is elated to do its part in making this a reality.
