The mission of Code Enforcement is to protect and enhance property values, maintain community appearance and standards, and to preserve the quality and the beautification of our multicultural city through the enforcement of City Codes and Ordinances.

Report a Possible Code Violation

If you received a Notice of Violation

  • carefully read the notice to find out what the violation is.
  • correct the problem and do so promptly.
  • notify the code compliance officer immediately after corrections are completed.

Anonymous Reporting Procedures

Pursuant to Florida law effective July 1, 2021, code inspectors are prohibited from initiating investigations of potential code or ordinance violations based on anonymous complaints. Individuals reporting potential violations are required to provide their name and contact information prior to the commencement of an investigation.

This requirement does not apply when a Code Compliance Officer has reason to believe that the alleged violation poses an imminent threat to public health, safety, or welfare, or may result in the imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.

Effective immediately, and in accordance with Florida law, all residents submitting complaints will be required to provide their name and address at the time the complaint is filed.
