Free Smoke Detector Program

The City of Lauderhill is committed to protecting residents and improving fire safety throughout the community. In partnership with Vice Mayor S. “Ray” Martin and the Lauderhill Fire Department, the City is offering FREE smoke alarms and professional installation for Lauderhill residents.

Working smoke alarms are one of the most effective ways to protect your home and family from fire-related emergencies. This program helps ensure that Lauderhill homes have properly installed smoke detectors that provide early warning in the event of a fire.

This program is available all City of Lauderhill residents who are in need of a smoke detector installed in their homes.

How to Schedule an Appointment

Eligible Lauderhill residents can schedule an appointment with the Lauderhill Fire Department to have a smoke alarm installed in their home at no cost.

Fire department personnel will install the alarm and ensure it is properly placed and functioning to help keep your household safe.

Residents can schedule their free installation in one of the following ways:

• Completing the form at the bottom of this page

• Calling the Lauderhill Fire Department at 954-730-2950

Appointments will be scheduled with trained fire personnel who will install the smoke alarm in your Lauderhill home.

Important Information

• Smoke alarms and installation are provided free of charge.

• Supplies are limited.

• Residents must complete a City of Lauderhill waiver of liability form at the time of installation.
