About the Vice Mayor
Lauderhill Vice Mayor Richard Campbell is proud and honored to serve the residents of Lauderhill. As a long-time community advocate and leader, he has dedicated himself to improving the quality of life for everyone who calls the City home. Vice Mayor Campbell is passionate about creating more opportunities for young people, supporting seniors, and celebrating Lauderhill’s rich cultural diversity.
Vice Mayor Campbell often shares updates about initiatives focused on public safety, affordable housing, economic development, and programs that bring neighbors together. Whether it’s working to attract new businesses, supporting local sports and cultural events, or helping residents become homeowners, Vice Mayor Campbell believes in building a stronger, more vibrant Lauderhill for all.
Vice Mayor Campbell is committed to listening to the community, collaborating with fellow leaders, and making sure every voice is heard. Above all, he feels grateful for the trust people have placed in him and is excited to keep working side by side with residents to move Lauderhill forward.
Vice Mayor Richard Campbell is a dedicated public servant, healthcare professional, and community leader with over 35 years of combined experience in child welfare, healthcare, sports, and charitable organizations. His guiding motto, “Giving Back to the Community,” reflects a lifelong commitment to service and leadership.
For the past 28 years, Vice Mayor Campbell has practiced as a licensed Physical Therapist and is the Chief Executive Officer of RICHAB Physical Therapy, Inc. His professional career also includes serving as a Juvenile Justice Counselor for the State of Florida, a Social Worker with the New York Department of Children and Families, and a Physical Education/Spanish Teacher in Jamaica. While teaching, he represented his colleagues as a member of the Northwestern Region Teachers Union, advocating for teachers’ rights and education initiatives.
Vice Mayor Campbell’s academic background is equally diverse and distinguished. He earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Hunter College in New York, and a Teacher’s Diploma from Epef. Stgo De Cuba. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he brings a bilingual and multicultural perspective to his work in public service.
As an active member of the Lauderhill community, Vice Mayor Campbell has served in numerous leadership roles. He has been a member of the City’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, President of his Homeowners Association, a Board Member of Lauderhill’s Sister City program, and a Charter Member of the Lauderhill Kiwanis. His longstanding commitment to civic engagement has helped strengthen connections among residents and enhance the quality of life within the city.
Beyond his civic contributions, Vice Mayor Campbell has made a lasting impact on youth and sports development. For the past 16 years, he has served as President of the Caribbean Americas Soccer Association (CASA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization he helped grow into a vital resource for young athletes. Founded in 2004, CASA is an affiliate of the United States Men’s Soccer and the Florida Men’s Soccer Association. Under his leadership, CASA has remained dedicated to player development and the promotion of soccer among youth and young men throughout Florida, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Vice Mayor Campbell continues to dedicate his career and public service to building stronger communities, advancing opportunities for youth, and improving the well-being of residents in the City of Lauderhill. His professional expertise, educational background, and unwavering commitment to service exemplify his belief in giving back and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Looking forward, Vice Mayor is focused on expanding youth programs, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing public health initiatives to ensure a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving future for the City of Lauderhill.
