Get Active Lauderhill is a community health challenge focused on helping residents eat better, move more, and take charge of their wellbeing.
For 60 days, you’ll be guided through simple weekly actions that improve physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial health, all while connecting with your neighbors and the resources right here in Lauderhill.
Get Active Lauderhill 5K Run
Commissioner Melissa P. Dunn presents the Get Active Lauderhill 5K Run, a community event dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and active living. Residents and visitors of all ages are invited to participate in this fun and energizing morning designed to encourage movement and healthy lifestyles.

Lauderhill Sports Park - 7500 W. Oakland Park Boulevard
Whether you choose to run, jog, or walk, this event welcomes participants of all fitness levels. The Get Active Lauderhill 5K is part of the City’s broader goal to inspire residents to stay active while connecting them with valuable health resources available throughout the community.
Participants will enjoy a lively atmosphere at Lauderhill Sports Park, along with opportunities to learn more about wellness programs, connect with local health vendors, and take part in free health screenings.

Participation Recognition
Participants will be recognized at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels based on engagement and consistency throughout the challenge. Local business incentives and partner acknowledgments are incorporated to encourage participation.

Weekly Virtual Sessions
Wednesdays at 7:00 PM, Live via Zoom with livestream access via Commission Dunn’s Facebook sessions will be recorded and shared.

Who can participate?
All Lauderhill residents are welcome. Activities are designed for all ages and fitness levels.
Is there a cost to participate?
No. Get Active Lauderhill is free to participate in.
Do I have to attend every event?
No. Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace. You can join as many activities and sessions as your schedule allows.
How do the weekly virtual sessions work?
Weekly sessions take place on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM via Zoom and livestream. Sessions include education, discussion, and guided activities. Recordings will be available for those who can’t attend live.
What is the Get Active pledge?
The pledge is a commitment to participate in the challenge and focus on healthier habits during the 60-day period. You can sign the pledge at the kickoff or online.
What kind of health screenings are offered?
Basic screenings such as blood pressure and BMI, along with “Know Your Numbers” education, will be available at the kickoff event.
Do I have to run the 5K?
No. The 5K is a walk/run event. Participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace.
How do I earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold recognition?
Recognition is based on participation across activities, virtual sessions, and events. Details will be shared during the kickoff and weekly sessions.
