Get Active Lauderhill Community Wellness Challenge Launches January 31
Lauderhill, FL (January 23, 2026) — City of Lauderhill Commissioner Melissa P. Dunn announced the launch of Get Active Lauderhill, a free, 60-day community wellness challenge designed to help residents eat better, move more, reduce stress, and take an active role in their physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial well-being through simple, achievable weekly actions and community connection.
The initiative officially kicks off with a community event on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Ilene Lieberman Botanical Gardens (3831 Inverrary Boulevard).
The kickoff event will feature rotating, drop-in wellness activities, including:
- Yoga
- Line dancing
- Cooking demonstrations
- Juicing classes
- Run/walk for weight loss
- Free health screenings and “Know Your Numbers” education
- Nutrition guidance
- Credit repair and money tips
- On-site registration and Get Active pledge participation
- A preview of the Get Active Lauderhill Community 5K
Programming is inclusive and open to residents of all ages and fitness levels.
The 60-day challenge runs from January 31 through April 1, 2026, with weekly virtual wellness sessions held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM via Zoom and livestreamed through Commissioner Dunn’s Facebook page.
The challenge will conclude with the Get Active Lauderhill Community 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Participation in all Get Active Lauderhill activities is free.
