City of Lauderhill Commissioner Melissa P. Dunn Appointed to Key National Board Positions

Lauderhill, FL - January 13, 2024 - 10:00 AM – Commissioner Melissa P. Dunn, currently in her third year as City Commissioner in Lauderhill, continues her dedicated service to the community. Her proactive initiatives, such as Lauderhill Health and Prosperity Partnership (LHPP), Dine In Lauderhill Lunch Meet-up, the Leading Ladies Circle, and the Lauderhill Shines Business Development Program, exemplify her commitment to enhancing the City.

While spearheading her many initiatives, Commissioner Dunn has undertaken additional responsibilities by accepting positions on prominent national boards. Her appointment to the National League of Cities Boards enables her to glean insights into effective practices from diverse agencies nationwide, thereby acquiring valuable resources to benefit the City of Lauderhill.

Commissioner Dunn's appointment to the National League of Cities' Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) is an important step towards advancing the concerns and issues of women in public office. Her two-year term in the advisory role will provide an opportunity for her to make a significant impact across the nation.

Furthermore, she has been elected as a Florida Director for the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO). This esteemed advocacy group unites African American municipal leaders, fostering networks and sharing best practices that significantly influence policy formulation, contributing to the success of cities and towns.
