City of Lauderhill Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn Appointed to the Board of Directors for the Florida Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials

Lauderhill, FL – August 24, 2022 – 10:00 AM – Lauderhill Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn has been appointed by The Florida League of Cities (FLC) to the Florida Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (FBC-LEO) Board of Directors, where she will serve as the Secretary. In her role at the FBC-LEO, Vice Mayor Dunn will advocate for positions and programs that will benefit local government and participate in programs and training that will facilitate her growth, development, and leadership capacity.

“Having a seat at the FBC-LEO table allows me to be the best and most effective advocate on behalf of the City of Lauderhill. As your Vice Mayor, the resources I have access to, such as training and support from FBC-LEO, will certainly be utilized to advance the great City of Lauderhill,” explains Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn.

In addition, the FLC appointed Vice Mayor Dunn to the 2022-2023 FLC Legislative Policy Committee where she will contribute to the development of the Florida League of Cities Legislative Action Agenda. The action agenda addresses priority issues that directly affect cities throughout Florida, including the City of Lauderhill.

Vice Mayor Dunn is on a mission to make the City of Lauderhill a healthy and prosperous place to live, learn, work, play, do business and raise a family. Her contributions to the City from the dais have been substantial – and she is looking forward to continuing her advocacy efforts and effecting change in Lauderhill!
