- Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) officially recognized the City of Lauderhill as the June PSC Helping Hand, for Lauderhill Parks and Recreation Department not letting COVID-19 restrictions stand in the way of their senior programs. Thank you, PSC, for the honor!
- A raffle for free sneakers sponsored by Sole Kicks was held at a Tennis Expo sponsored by Commissioner “Jabbow” early May. The winners were announced at an Official City Commission Meeting in June where the sponsors met the winner – a young Clyde Norman, virtually over a zoom. During the meeting, Clyde’s younger brother Rohan, playfully sat next to him and the audience undeniably adored our two very young and very charming guests. As a result of the cuteness overload, no one wanted to leave Rohan empty handed! Joshua Prager of the Coin Laundry at the Lauderhill Mall offered to pay for sports registration fees for the two Norman boys. Also feeling the love, Tywon Jones of the Lauderhill Boys and Girls Club decided he would give Rohan an Amazon gift card! In late June, Commissioner Jabbow invited everyone to meet at City Hall for the first time. Joshua Prager, his family, Eddie Rodriguez of Sole Kicks, and Tywon Jones proudly presented the boys with gifts, making these two princes into kings for a day! The City of Lauderhill is proud of our small businesses and nonprofit organizations for passing blessings along to others and making an impact on our youngest of residents.
