- Mayor Ken Thurston issued a proclamation declaring Monday, February 8th as Jordan Battle Day. Jordan came up through the Lauderhill Lions football program before he earned a football scholarship to the University of Alabama. He plays as a Safety/Defensive Back, and just participated in the National Championship game where U of A defeated Ohio State 52 to 24. Way to go, JORDAN!
- Commissioner Lawrence “Jabbow” Martin presented the youth of the Lauderhill Royals Cheerleading Junior Peewee and Varsity teams with Certificates of Accomplishment for their major accomplishments this season. The Junior Peewees won Regional and National Championships, whereas the Varsity team won the Regional Championships. Cheer Commissioner Shantia Hall and Senior Advisor Dwight Hall represented 6 coaches and 33 youth participants in receiving the honor. Lauderhill Royals, you make us all so proud!
- Renegade Theater Company, a youth theater production company located in Lauderhill off NW 38th Avenue, is streaming their modern interpretation of Peter Pan via On Demand as of February 13th! Read more at Broadway World’s website.
