Lauderhill Fire Rescue Honored with Award
In the past month, you met Fire Inspectors Sheniqua Johnson and Laura Lillie in the last two “I Am Lauderhill” videos. Since then, these two shining stars in the Fire Department were selected to receive a very special award for their work in fire prevention!
Fire Inspectors/Public Educators Sheniqua Johnson and Laura Lillie of Lauderhill Fire Rescuehave been selected to receive the 2020 Ed Murray Public Educator of the Year award from the First There First Care Gathering of Eagles Conference.
The Ed Murray Public Educator of the Year is awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves by contributing to the public understanding of Emergency Medical Services (EMS); or who have created, improved, expanded, or consistently worked to bring quality educational programs to an EMS community of interest.
In creating the “Every Grade Can Learn First Aid” curriculum, highlighting the importance of basic first aid to elementary school students, Inspectors Johnson and Lillie have truly improved and expanded the level of first aid awareness to those students. First aid preparedness not only benefits the students and their families, but also the communities in which they live.
