City of Lauderhill’s Financial Report from Moody’s Investors Service Proves a Positive Position
Moody's Investors Service has announced the City of Lauderhill has earned an A1 Rating for both the General Obligation Unlimited Tax (GOULT) and Capital Improvement Bonds.
The A1 GOULT Rating reflects Lauderhill’s satisfactory financial position. Factors that go into this rating include fund balance, tax base, debt, pension obligations, and the wealth and income of the City’s residents.
The A1 Rating on Capital Improvement Revenue Bonds reflects the City’s annual debt to pledged revenues (and the volatility of the revenue). Moody’s did not see any credit risks pertaining to COVID-19 at this time.
Deputy City Manager and Director of Finance Kennie Hobbs, Jr. shared, “These ratings are very much like an individual’s credit score. Generally, when someone has an excellent credit score, they can apply for loans and credit with lower rates and favorable terms. Having A1 Ratings is similar to a City having a high credit score.”
