NEWS RELEASE - Sewer Main Break – Update #2

 WATER ADVISORY

All Lauderhill Residents and Businesses Can Continue Normal Water Usage

Lauderhill, FL – May 29, 2020 – 8:00 AM – On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, The City of Lauderhill experienced a Sewer Main Break around NW 55 Avenue and NW 24 Street.

Although the quality of the water was NOT AFFECTED, residents and businesses within Lauderhill’s City limits located west of the Florida Turnpike were asked to limit water usage as the Wastewater System was undergoing repair.

The City of Lauderhill Utilities Staff isolated the broken pipe, pumped out the spillage, managed the Wastewater System manually, sanitized the affected area, and made the temporary repair until a scheduled permanent repair can be completed. The scheduled dates and times for the permanent repair will be announced at a later date.

Residents may resume normal water usage and subsequent wastewater usage.

All Lauderhill Residents and Businesses West of the Turnpike are to Limit Water Use until Further Notice

Lauderhill, FL – May 27, 2020 – 12:00 PM – The City of Lauderhill has experienced a Sewer Main Break at NW 55 Avenue and NW 24 Street.

All City of Lauderhill drinking water was unaffected and is safe to consume.

However, all residents and businesses within Lauderhill’s City limits west of the Florida Turnpike, should severely limit water usage.

Please DO NOT run water or flush toilets unless necessary until the advisory is lifted.

City of Lauderhill Utilities Staff along with Emergency Contractors are working to isolate the broken pipe, pump out the spillage, sanitize the affected area, and make the necessary repairs.

When the repairs are completed and water usage may resume at a normal level, another notice will be posted and sent.
