A thank-you goes a long way – and in Lauderhill, it comes in many forms!

This past week, Charley’s Philly Steaks provided the Lauderhill Police Department and Fire Department with sandwiches for their unwavering determination to keep the community safe during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Florida Medical Center’s staff received another thank-you from the City of Lauderhill itself. The City donated 200 meals from the Cheesecake Factory to the hospital’s several workers who have each demonstrated what tireless care looks like. The hospital posted pictures of gratitude on its Facebook account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All the while, Amy Gordon, wife of Major Gordon, is fast at work making personalized facemasks for the city’s first responders. Facial coverings are critical to further protect essential workers who are in constant contact with others, and are required of everyone to use in a public setting. At the Police Department, a local artist dropped off works of art with a handwritten note: “I am an artist and this is my way of saying thank you. Please put these prints in an area that will cheer you even if in a small way.”

Assistant Principal Cynthia Woods from Larkdale Elementary School had a box of assorted popcorn delivered to the Police Station as a token of appreciation during the pandemic, on behalf of her school and the Larkdale Community.

 Domino’s donated boxes of pizza to feed our first responders, who were more than happy to take the twenty large pizza pies off their hands.
