KAPOW Packs a Punch for a Blazing Future

KAPOW group and fire fighters in front of fire engineNearly 200 students of the youth program, Kids and the Power of Work (KAPOW), from Paul Turner Elementary School and Larkdale Elementary School visited Fire Station 57 to learn about all aspects of attaining a career in the fire services industry. Although they learned about becoming a fire fighter-paramedic, they also learned about ancillary jobs in administration and operations.

Our dedicated fire fighters came in off-duty to assist in demonstrating proper use of equipment for the kids and gave a first-class tour of the fire station.

Thank you to KAPOW and the staff of the Lauderhill Fire Department for making this field trip not only fun, but educational.
