Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Holiday Celebrations!
With so many City-sponsored holiday celebrations around town, it was hard not to feel holiday cheer throughout Lauderhill. Here is a quick recap of some of the magical moments we shared with our residents.
Santa Deliveries
From December 16th through December 19th, Santa, Frosty, Rudolph, and friends visited Lauderhill kids at their homes to provide a magical night of enchantment! These North Pole pals delivered gifts, left notes, sung carols, and spread all-around holiday joy to families.

Secret Santa
On December 18, 2019, the Lauderhill Police Department hosted the annual “Secret Santa” holiday toy give-away. During this event, Lauderhill Police Chief Constance Stanley (A.K.A. Secret Santa) along with her staff visited each of our elementary schools and presented a bicycle and a bag of toys to deserving students from each school. The students were especially elected by their school principal and staff to receive this honorable recognition. The selection criteria included academics, good citizenship, and overall conduct.
Shop with a Cop
On Thursday, December 19, 2019, the Lauderhill Police Department hosted “Shop With-A-Cop” holiday shopping spree. Children from Lauderhill schools were selected by their principals based on good grades and behavior to go shopping for holiday gifts with their neighborhood police. The event kicked off at 8:30 am at the Lauderhill Police Department, where the participants were welcomed with a holiday breakfast.
Celebrating Hanukah with Lauderhill Synangogues
Synagogue of Inverrary-Chabad Menorah Lighting
Commissioner Denise D. Grant along with the members of The Synagogue of Inverrary-Chabad held a wonderful Menorah Lighting Ceremony at Lauderhill City Hall on December 23rd, 2019.
Rabbinical College of Florida, Inc. Menorah Lighting
The students of the Rabbinical College of Florida Inc., under the leadership of Rabbi Mordechai Anati, joined Mayor Thurston, Vice Mayor Berger, and staff for the Annual Menorah Lighting at City Hall. All in attendance enjoyed a teaching on the true meaning of the “festival of lights.”
