Highlights of Lauderhill Police Enforcement Activity - January 9, 2020

  • On Friday, January 3, 2020, a Lauderhill patrol officer was flagged down while patrolling the area of 5600 W Oakland Park Blvd. The victim said a man attempted to rob her but when he was unable to remove her valuables, punched her in the face and fled on foot. Patrol officers searched the area and found the suspect.  Officers chased and caught the suspect, later identified as Paul Bendell (DOB 1/18/1988).  Officers discovered a crack pipe on Bendell during his arrest.  Bendell was subsequently arrested and charged with Burglary and Battery in an Occupied Conveyance, Battery to Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • On Friday, January 3, 2020, officers received a signal of a stolen vehicle in the area of 1600 NW 31st Avenue. Officers conducted an area search and discovered the stolen vehicle, a black 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage bearing Florida tag LLXH59 stopped at NW 31st Ave and W Sunrise Blvd. The driver attempted to evade the police, but officers were quick to cover the area and conduct a felony stop. The driver, Shaniqua Francis (DOB 6/4/1992), was arrested and charged with Grand Theft Auto.
  • On Monday, January 6, 2020, as a result of an investigation, road patrol officers conducted a traffic stop at 2500 Inverrary Club Apartments.  During the investigation, Anthony Dees (DOB  8/31/2001) was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm.
