Chief’s Message - September 20, 2019
Earlier this month we implemented emergency preparedness plans as we braced for Hurricane Dorian. This time of the year, we are reminded of the importance of being prepared and staying informed concerning inclement weather and the damages strong winds could cause to entire communities. During emergencies, the Lauderhill Police Department collaborates with other City and County departments in the Emergency Operations Center and share vital information to keep you updated. We strive to maintain a user-friendly website and social media links for up-to-date reports regarding adverse weather. Our social media sites will keep you informed 24/7, even if there are power outages.
Effective communication and delivering emergency messages to you becomes especially critical during hurricane season. The information we provide may better equip you to stay safe, protect your property, facilitate emergency response efforts, elicit your cooperation, instill confidence and help families reunite during and after the storm in the event they become separated. Please stay connected and be on the lookout for alerts and warnings or directives of evacuation, curfews, and other self-protective actions.
I invite you to visit the Police Department page to become familiar with our law enforcement practices and the services and tools available to you during an emergency. Be assured that the Lauderhill Police Department's communications will be clear and contain specific and adequate information in sync with other data being distributed in your community, County and across the State.
Be Prepared So That You Can Stay Safe!!!
