Rescue Our Kids (R.O.K.) Boot-Camp Session

The Lauderhill Police Department held its 43rd Rescue Our Kids (R.O.K.) Boot-Camp Spring Break Session March 25th - 29th.  R.O.K. participants are generally middle-school age youth who may be struggling with life challenges who are referred by their parents, teachers or school resource officers.  During boot-camp sessions, participants are taught how to deal with peer pressure, choices/consequences, hygiene, and other teen-related life situations.

The Lauderhill Police Department’s Boot-Camp team, consisting of Police Officers certified as Boot Camp Instructors, welcomed 15 participants during this session.  The participants were taught discipline and to be self-confident through military-style drilling and teamwork building.  The session was very successful as noted during the emotional graduation ceremony from both parents and participants.  R.O.K. Boot Camp is offered several times throughout the year during school breaks. For more information on R.O.K., please contact the PD at 954-497-4700.
