Ice Cream with a Cop

On Wednesday, March 19th, Chief Stanley met with exceptional students from Lauderhill 6 -12 to speak about life challenges over a delicious Ice Cream treat! This event is held to strengthen the relationship between Lauderhill Police Officers and Lauderhill youth. Those who participated either had exceptional or notably improved behavior and/or grades. Students with vision and hearing impairments also participated.

Students met with Chief Stanley and Student Resource Officer (SRO) Mosley to discuss issues that adversely affect them such as domestic violence, family member arrests, and various types of abuse to name a few.  Sharing personal stories gave the students an opportunity to solidify and build a positive relationships with members of the Police Department.  Ice Cream with a Cop is another great example of how Lauderhill youth and Officers at the Lauderhill PD work together in a positive environment to interact and build community relations at a young age.
