Commitment to the Arts

Mayor Ken Thurston is a lover of the arts! He along with the Lauderhill Performing Art Center’s (LPAC) resident theater company Stage Door Productions, will be sponsoring 1000 kids to attend a live performance of the “The Wiz” in mid-December. His commitment to the arts starts with sharing theater with kids who may normally not have an opportunity to attend shows at the state-of-the-art LPAC. “There is likely a great-young aspiring actor or actress in this group of kids coming to see the Wiz. I hope this exposure to the theater and the Wiz will spark the passion in them,” explains Mayor Thurston.

The Wiz opened last weekend with a full house and will continue showing until December 31st. Call 954-777-2055 for more information.
