About Lauderhill

Located in the heart of Broward County, the City of Lauderhill is home to nearly 75,000 residents and a growing number of bustling businesses that help drive the region’s economy. Known for its diverse cultural richness and welcoming community, this All-American City is less than 10 miles from South Florida’s world-famous beaches. The city proudly holds the title of the “cricket capital” of the United States, thanks to Central Broward Regional Park Stadium—the first U.S. cricket ground certified by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to host international matches. This landmark venue has become a hub for cricket in North America, drawing major international events and helping to grow the sport’s popularity across the region. The city is also popular for arts and recreation, featuring signature destinations like Lauderhill Performing Arts Center, Lauderhill Historical Museum, Lauderhill Golf Course and several scenic parks with picturesque trails. With a strong focus on people, progress and sustainability, Lauderhill continues to be a vibrant place for everyone under the sun.

Post Date:11/13/2018 11:33 AM

The Lauderhill Police Department has increased community partnerships by empowering residents and encouraging citizens to contribute to the City as police volunteers and to participate in programs designed to help reduce crime and bridge gaps between the community and the police. The community policing program is currently hosting their 25th Citizen Police Academy Class with nineteen (19) participants.

Residents who meet specific requirements can attend one (1) of the two (2) Citizen’s Police ten (10)-week academy classes held every year and receive training in the areas of: public safety, crime prevention, and security coordination methods.  The training lessons are delivered in classrooms, through workshops and during field training scenarios.  After graduation, the participants may join the forty-five (45)-member unit.

The Lauderhill Police Department encourages its citizens to contribute to their communities as police volunteers and to participate in programs designed to help reduce crime and bridge gaps between the community and the police.

Lauderhill Police volunteers are always welcome to participate in community policing programs such as: Family Safety Day, Lauderhill Police Memorial, Veteran's Day Ceremony, Lauderhill Night Out Against Crime & Halloween Safety Day Event, Slow Roll, and Secret Santa.
