Safety Town Grand Opening: LPD Promotes Traffic Safety for Children

It takes a whole team to put this town together.  Members of the Lauderhill Police Department (LPD) have been working diligently to set up for the grand opening of Safety Town anticipated for September 2018. The purpose of Safety Town is to help prevent accidents and preserve the lives of our precious children.

Safety-Town is a replica ‘tiny city’ built for children to teach and promote traffic safety from the dangers of real life traffic through interactive lessons.  The ‘tiny city’ will include small buildings, traffic lights, street signs, crosswalks and vehicles, simulated by scooters and big wheels.

Elementary schools in Lauderhill will be invited to attend the free two-hour classroom instruction followed by 30 minutes of actual driving around in their scooters and big wheels.
