PRESS RELEASE

City of Lauderhill’s Vice Mayor Ken Thurston Vows to Replant After Hurricane Irma and Announces the Commencement of the 2017-18 Green Series.

Vice Mayor Ken Thurston is proud to announce the Kick-Off of the 7th Annual Green Series! The first class of the series will be led by Mr. David Harold on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 6 pm. His subject matter will include Tropical Fruit Trees, and everyone is welcome to attend!

"I would say the timeliness of the Tropical Fruit Tree Class is on point. So many of us lost trees during Hurricane Irma; if you are a beginner or a long time veteran in your yard, you should come out and hear what David has to share with us. In addition, you have a shot at winning a free fruit tree or a free plant,” says Green Series Organizer, Vice Mayor Thurston.

The class will be held at Lauderhill’s City Hall - 5581 W. Oakland Park Boulevard, and it is free to attendees on a first come first serve basis. Refreshments will be served, and fruit trees are raffled off to attendees.  If you are interested in attending the Green Series class, call Lexie at 954-777-2040 or email her at ahall@lauderhill-fl.gov.
