NEWS RELEASE #6

Lauderhill Emergency Operations Staff Begins to Clean Up and Assess Damage Around City

Although our weather is improving, please be reminded the Broward County and City curfew is still in effect. We will continue to enforce the curfew until 10am tomorrow morning. Much of the streets are full of debris and are not passable at this time. Some power lines are down and localized flooding still exists. The assessment of the City has just begun.

The City of Lauderhill Staff has already started to remove debris from main roads to allow for emergency vehicles to travel safely into neighborhoods. This will continue around the clock starting with major roadways and continue into communities and neighborhoods.

As you begin cleaning up the debris on your own property, as it is your responsibility, please compile all debris and place it in your swale (single family homes) or designated bulk pick up location (condos/apartments) until the hauler is scheduled to pick it up. Scheduling information will be provided in the upcoming days.

City Administrative Offices and Parks are still closed until further notice.

Staff members are being called in on a need be basis. They should check with their supervisors before coming back to work.
