Home Damage Assessment Tool

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Irma, residents can help first responders quickly identify areas of devastation, even before damage assessment teams are able to more effectively canvass the County, by participating in the Home Damage Assessment Program.

The website for the Home Damage Assessment Program features photos of four homes that have experienced varying levels of flooding and devastation. As soon as it is safe to go outside, compare the way your home looks to the four photos. Report to Broward County officials your address, and the number of the photo that mostly closely resembles the levels of damage you have experienced.

To report, call the Broward County Emergency Hotline at 311 or 954-831-4000. If you have power and internet service, you can visit this site to report.

Emergency Management officials encourage residents to print the four photos ahead of time and store them with their hurricane kit for easy access after the storm, or bookmark the website link in their smart phone. Reporting through a smart phone automatically associates your location with the level of damage you are reporting. You will not be required to enter your address.
