Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform Lifeguard duties and teach aquatic skills and water safety. Employees in this classification perform lifesaving and instructional work. Position is responsible for water safety, teaching aquatic skills and water safety, performing minor pool maintenance and clerical duties. Performs related work as directed.
High school diploma, GED; supplemented by vocational/technical training in aquatic skills, water safety, swimming, or related field; supplemented by up to 6 months previous experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, Lifeguard, Swimming Instructor, Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support, Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor or Learn To Swim Instructor certified
