James D. Bradley, Jr. Park is located at 3100 NW 16 Street in Lauderhill, Florida 33311. It is a 4 acre passive park located on west side of NW 31st Avenue.  The land purchased by the City for purposes of a park was officially named after Mr. James D. Bradley, on June 30, 2014 via Resolution 14R-06-138 at the request of Vice Mayor Benson and approval of the Commission.  Now complete, the park beautifies the south eastern corridor of Lauderhill with its decorative fencing, 5 foot walking path, decorative outdoor furniture, beautiful trees, a pavilion, amphitheater and luscious landscaping.

Many of the shady and mature Oak Trees remain in their original locations.  Bismark Palms, Royal Poincianas, and Foxtail Palms are some of the newer trees planted throughout the park to make a great shade canopy for guests. In addition, along the walking path you will see flower plants to include the stunning African Iris and the ornamental Bougainvillea.

City of Lauderhill Recognizes the Artists, Donors and Community Leaders for the Public Art Project at Bradley Park on December 13 at 10 am.

The City of Lauderhill received a grant of $20,000 from the Kresge Unrestricted Fund of the Community Foundation of Broward for the History Promotes Social Change Program.

The City of Lauderhill utilized the grant to create beautiful art on a stand-alone wall which serves as the backdrop for an amphitheater at James Bradley Park.  The design by Cynthia Fisher and Ruben Ubiera was a reflection of the migration of the residents who moved into West Ken Lark Community. In addition, the art reflects positive images of their reverence for family unity.  Both concepts were considered priorities to the residents of the area.

“A broken family can cause a negative impact on a community.   The City of Lauderhill’s External Mosaic Tile Mural Project brought residents together to exemplify how their community remains vibrant, successful contributors of society who are capable of overcoming societal ills.  We thank the Community Foundation of Broward for making this opportunity a reality while allowing residents to share their heart with so many others through art,” said Commissioner M. Margaret Bates.
