The Office of Economic and Small Business Development continues to work hard to provide information to you relevant to your many business needs now and potentially in the future. While we continue to deal with COVID-19, we must also recognize that June 1st and Hurricane season are just around the corner. Paycheck Protection Program
Congress recently passed, and President Trump signed, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. We have broken down all the business related information for you into a series of Fact Sheets, to make it easier to understand. The CARES Act establishes a new $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The Program will provide much-needed relief to millions of small businesses so they can sustain their businesses and keep their workers employed. The Paycheck Protection Program is specifically designed to help small businesses keep their workforce employed and provide small businesses with capital through lending institutions, with support from the SBA. The Broward County Call Center, partnering with the Florida Department of Health in Broward has established a new COVID-19 hotline to answer questions about the virus. Call takers can also pre-screen people to see if they meet the criteria to be tested. The number is 954-357-9500. Calls are being taken daily from 8AM to 6PM.

Once a bid is submitted, check their website daily for addendums which must be addressed. Some solicitations will require mandatory pre-bid or mandatory pre-solicitation meetings.
