City of Lauderhill Green Series Hosting March 2017 Class

"Identifying Diseases in Plants" with Kadene Williams

City of Lauderhill Vice Mayor Ken Thurston's Green Series Continues on Thursday, March 9th, 2017!

Lauderhill, FL - The Lauderhill Green Series has only two classes left in the 2016/17 series. Please join us on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 6pm as Kadene Williams will teach a class on “Identifying Diseases in Plants.

“Several years ago much of South Florida’s citrus fruit tree inventory fell victim to the canker epidemic. This tragedy, in part, is what inspired me to start the Green Series. It is imperative we replace the diseased trees which died and those trees removed by the State’s Agriculture Department. Learn how to identify any other disease or epidemics – so that we do not threaten our new plants and trees,” explains Vice Mayor and Series Organizer, Ken Thurston.

The Identifying Diseases in Plants class will be held in the Multipurpose Room at City Hall (5581 W. Oakland Park Boulevard) beginning at 6pm. It is a FREE class that is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Refreshments will be served and fruit trees will be given to some of the lucky attendees.
