REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The City of Lauderhill will be
accepting sealed proposals until 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday,
June 18, 2012 and will open such proposals at 11:00 A.M.
in Room 401, City Hall, 5581 West Oakland Park Blvd.,
Lauderhill, Florida 33313. Proposals received after
10:45 A.M. EST will not be considered and will be
returned to the proposer unopened.
The City of Lauderhill is seeking proposals from
qualified proposers, hereinafter referred to as the
Contractor, to provide Newsletter Printing Services.
Proposals will be ranked on a combined qualification and
pricing for Proposal 2012-022, NEWSLETTER PRINTING
SERVICES Contract(s) will be awarded to the highest
ranked Contractor as described in the Instruction to
Proposers.
Contract is non-exclusive agreement with term Three (3)
years with One (1) Two (2) year extension.
The RFP Documents may be examined and obtained on and
after Tuesday May 22, 2012 at the Finance Department,
5581 West Oakland Park Blvd., Room 231, Lauderhill,
Florida 33313. (The last date to obtain the contract
documents is 7 days prior to the due date or June 11,
2012.
One (1) unbound original, four (4) bound copies and one
electronic in PDF format of the proposal must be
submitted no later than 10:45 A.M. on June 18, 2012 in

LAUDERHILL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
AND LIBRARY
RFP NUMBER: P2012-011
CITY OF LAUDERHILL, FLORIDA
The City of Lauderhill will be
accepting sealed proposals until 2:45 PM EST on May 29,
2012, at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, City of
Lauderhill, and 5581 West Oakland Park Boulevard, Suite
421, Lauderhill, Florida 33313 and will be opened at
3:00 PM in Room 401. Proposals received after 2:45 PM
EST will not be considered and will be returned to the
bidder unopened.
The intent of this project is to construct Performing
Arts Center and Library building and facilities at the
site of 3800 NW 11th Lauderhill, Florida (“Project”).
The work includes but is not limited to the following:
furnish all of the labor, materials, equipment services
and incidentals necessary to perform all of the work
described in the Contract Documents including drawings,
specifications and addenda for the Project known as the
“Lauderhill Performing Arts Center and Library” prepared
by Westlake Reed & Leskosky (WRL). The Performing Art
Center building will occupy an area of 47,585 sq. ft.
and will be located at the heart of Broward County
Regional Park. The Center will include a minimum of
1,200-seat theatre with a stage house and performer
support, a large multi-purpose room, a multi-functional
lobby, and front-of-house amenities such as a
concessions stand, exterior roof terrace, and outdoor
plaza. Attached to the building, a Public Library will
be constructed over an area of 10,000 sq. ft. This
Library was designed to potentially share its
multipurpose room with the Arts Center. Energy
efficiency measures for the building include heat
recovery, demand controlled ventilation, solar thermal
heating, and a 10 kW solar array. The entire complex was
designed to a LEED Gold standard. The site improvements
include visitor and staff parking areas, landscaping,
exterior lighting, emergency generator, pedestrian
connectivity and related site improvements. The
completion date for this project shall be fourteen
months after the first Notice to Proceed has been issued
by the CITY. The CITY will issue a second Notice to
Proceed after all permits have been issued and all other
preliminary work has been completed in accordance with
the first Notice to Proceed so that the Contractor can
proceed with construction.
Proposals will be based on the complete work required in
the Contract Documents. Proposals based on a portion of
the work will not be considered.
Contract Documents may be examined and obtained on and
after April 17, 2012, at 10:00 am at the Purchasing
Department, 5581 West Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderhill,
Florida 33313, (954) 777-2051 or upon payment of $100.00
per set electronic, non refundable. The cutoff date to
obtain the contract documents is 10 days prior to the
proposal date on May 18, 2012.
An original, ten (10) copies and one (1) electronic copy
in PDF format, of the proposal must be submitted no
later than 2:45 PM EST on May 29, 2012, in sealed

A Mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held at
9:00A.M. on May 1, 2012, in Room 135 at City of
Lauderhill, City Hall, 5581 West Oakland Park Boulevard,
FL 33313. The purpose of the meeting is to address any
questions or concerns by proposers regarding the project
including scope, budget, timeline and other
requirements. A project site visit will follow
immediately after the pre-proposal meeting.
Proposal security in the form of a Bid Bond or certified
check made payable to the "City of Lauderhill", in an
amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal, will
be required. Proposer must use Bond form provided. No
proposer may withdraw his proposal within 90 days after
the actual date of the opening thereof. Guaranty Bonds
in the form of a 100% Construction Performance Bond and
a 100% Construction Payment Bond will be required upon
award of contract.
