The Office of the City Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all other City of Lauderhill Departments. In order to promote economic growth and redevelopment, the Office of the City Manager recommends changes to or enhancement of current ordinances. This Department institutes new procedures, codes, ordinances, and policies in response to City Commission directives. It also formulates written administrative policies and procedures to help maintain high quality City services.

The City Manager is responsible for direct supervision of the directorial staff.  All major contracts regarding City franchises (i.e. waste hauling, towing, telephones) are prepared and negotiated through this Office, with the City Manager making final recommendations for ratification or modification to the City Commission at periodic Workshops or at the Open Commission Meetings held twice monthly.  Concerns from Community Leaders and residents are heard as part of the daily operation of this department. In some cases, this brings to light issues within the City that need resolution. This is done via phone, individual, and group meetings with members of the City Manager's staff. The City Manager's staff also makes constant drive-by inspections of all city areas in order to recommend changes in procedures or ordinances that will enhance the economic development of the City.  The Office of the City Manager spearheads new, innovative projects that will be of benefit to the City. An example is the " Paint Up Lauderhill" program. Begun in 1998, this is a community based volunteer program for neighborhood improvement. City employee volunteers, along with interested community groups, go into the community and paint pre-selected houses. For three years the program has been successful. LAUDERHILL IS PROUD TO BE THE FIRST CITY IN BROWARD COUNTY to boast a community awareness program such as "Paint Up Lauderhill".
