NEWS RELEASE

The City of Lauderhill’s Public Works Department has been working diligently over the last several days as heavy rainfall has drenched the City and surrounding areas.

Staff is continuously cleaning out storm drains to keep debris from blocking the water’s path down the drain.  In addition, the Storm Pumps have been sending excessive amounts of rain water into the C-12 and C-13 canals.

The Parks & Leisure Services Department has assessed all of its facilities and parks. It has temporarily closed West Wind Park, 4550 NW 82nd Ave, due to flooding at this time.

We will continue to work with South Florida Water Management District as more rain is expected. Current conditions may exist over the next couple of days. If you must go outdoors, please exercise the utmost caution and avoid standing water.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the flooding in your neighborhood, please call the Lauderhill Public Works Department at 954-730-2960.

If you have any questions regarding West Wind Park, the Parks & Leisure Services Department, or sports programming, please call 954-730-3080. Our evaluations of our facilities will be ongoing.
